John Nemitz is a somewhat recent enthusiast in genealogy, having just started family research a couple years ago. His ancestry on his father’s side is completely Pomeranian, and he grew up in the house that was built by his great great grandfather who was born in Pommern.  His Pomeranian ancestors lived in the Kreises of Schlawe and Belgard and settled in Clark County, Wisconsin in the 1870s and 1880s.

 

He will be presenting on his trip to Pommern in the fall of 2025. Destinations include Stettin, Köslin, and several villages in Kreis Schlawe. The presentation will include details on research leading up to the trip, logistics for booking a solo journey, and photos and findings from the trip.
